Google Apps Mega-Deal Great For IT

GooglelogoThe Google Apps mega-deals that Google Enterprise Vice President Amit Singh says are in the works could bring very good news to IT staff at small and midsize businesses--even though the deals are geared toward securing large companies and organizations as Apps users. Google plans to introduce apps that will attract very large customers and which could result in hundreds of thousands of users moving to the platform.

While Google Apps was originally put out in 2007 with a focus on small businesses, the ever-growing enterprise IT features have been targeted to large companies, according to InfoWorld. With these large companies coming on board, Google should have more incentive to improve and upgrade Apps in a way that will benefit IT across the board. As large companies become more comfortable moving collaboration and communication software to the cloud, smaller businesses are seeing an uptick in the usefulness of cloud softwares.
